Dorit Kemsley's main storyline on this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been the fact that she's going through a tumultuous separation from her husband, PK. Although she's talked about their marital struggles and PK's alcoholism on the show, Dorit Kemsley has been adamant about the fact that the two of them were not talking about going through with their divorce yet.
But, after the most recent episode of RHOBH, it seems like things might be changing.
Between Dorit opening more up about the issues she's facing in her separation and Erika Jayne getting blunt about the state of their separation, fans think that Dorit Kemsley might finally be ready to take the next step in her divorce.
What did Dorit Kemsley say about PK about their divorce?
On the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit Kemsley opened up about the fact that PK had recently sent her a "7-page email" with a "barrage" of demands about the future of their separation.
"It was predominantly financials. His expectations were, within a month or two, that I will be responsible for the mortgage and all the bills associated with the house," Dorit Kemsley explained during the episode in a conversation with Erika Jayne, Bozoma Saint John, and Kathy Hilton.
Dorit went on to vent about the fact that this version of PK that sent the email, in which he also demanded that the two of them discuss a custody arrangement or he would formally file for divorce, was not the man that she had recognized as her husband.
"If I have to go to war, I will go to war," Dorit said in the episode of her plans to respond to PK's demands and perceived threat of divorce if she didn't go along with what he wanted.
Erika Jayne has a theory about PK and Dorit Kemsley's divorce
During the conversation, fellow diamond holder who is also in the midst of her own messy divorce Erika Jayne encouraged Dorit Kemsley to file for divorce and gave some blunt but very much needed advice to Dorit Kemsley.
Erika Jayne speculated that PK could be trying to divorce Dorit Kemsley before their 10 year anniversary because, in California, the courts can rule for all assets gained during marriage to be divided equally and for alimony payments to be made indefinitely if a couple divorces after 10 years.
This means that PK would be paying out for their divorce for much longer if the two of them wait until after their 10 year anniversary to divorce than if they get divorced before it. And since the two of them got married in March 2015, Erika Jayne may have a point with this.
"You have to protect yourself. You have to go, ‘Hold on a second. The price of poker has completely changed. This is not my partner. This is not my friend, this is my adversary now,'" Erika Jayne was shown in the most recent RHOBH episode telling Dorit Kemsley before she bluntly told her friend that everything she's shared about her separation from PK has made it obvious that he doesn't want to work their marriage out and get back together.
Could Kyle Richards follow in Dorit Kemsley's footsteps?
Dorit Kemsley and Erika Jayne are far from the only Real Housewives of Beverly Hills diamond holders that are in the midst of a split from their husbands. Fellow RHOBH star Kyle Richards has also been separate from her husband, Mauircio Umansky, since July 2023.
Although the two of them have been living separately with Kyle opening up about her house being empty and each of them have been spotted out with new people, sparking rumors that the two of them might have moved on, they haven't made any moves to file for divorce just yet.
Earlier in the current season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sutton Stracke urged Kyle Richards to file for divorce instead of dragging her feet in the matter, but it doesn't seem like Kyle listened to that advice as well as Dorit seemed like she was listening to Erika's similar urging. Because of this, it's not clear whether or not Dorit Kemsley being urged to make the next move in her divorce will inspire her former best friend to do the same.
Considering how much of this season has been focused on the feud between Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards, the flames of which have been fanned by Kyle Richards' friendship with PK, it doesn't seem likely.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and is available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
