Kyle Richards' separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky, has been a major part of her storyline in the most recent seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but the two of them have stated that they're not ready to file for divorce just yet. On the November 26 episode of RHOBH, fellow diamond holder Sutton Stracke urged Kyle to change that.

In a conversation that Kyle described as "torture," Sutton encouraged her to make a big step in her separation from Mauricio and file for divorce.

The two of them have been separated since they announced their breakup in 2023, but Kyle has been hesitant to move forward with the next step in the end of their marriage and has been open about refusing to call their split a divorce yet.

According to Sutton, who went through her own expensive divorce and now receives a reported $300,000 per month from her ex-husband, Kyle is making a big mistake by refusing to file for divorce.

According to Sutton, things are extra tricky in a situation like Mauricio and Kyle's because of money. Although Kyle insists that the two of them are in a good place and having a friendly split, Sutton isn't so sure things will say that way. She told Kyle during the episode, "I just think when it comes to money, people can be different."

While Kyle insisted that things are different with her and Mauricio and that the two of them share ownership of The Agency, a real estate brokerage, and Mauricio has previously credited Kyle as a big part of his success, Sutton isn't convinced.

"The lesson is very clear coming out of my marriage, men do not like parting with their money," she told Kyle, not ready to budge on her advice that it's time to take the next step and file for divorce now instead of waiting any longer.

Sutton advised Kyle to "draw a line in the sand" and file for divorce, saying that it can be helpful in the future if any trouble does arise between the two of them because it will give the courts a solid date for when the two of them were officially over instead of just living their separate lives as they have been since they announced their split. Sutton told her, "If you go on to do something from the date of filing, that's yours."

Even though the two of them haven't officially filed for divorce yet, it seems like the two of them might still be making progress in moving forward in their split.

Mauricio, who recently moved out of their shared home, has reportedly been dipping his toes back into the dating pool and was previously linked to influencer Alexandria Wolfe while Kyle has opened up about her "evolving sexuality" amid rumors about her friendship with country singer Morgan Wade.
