The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came back from their holiday break and brought all the drama back to the air with it. On the January 7 episode of the reality TV series, Kyle Richards defended the fact that she still texts PK, Dorit Kemsley's estranged husband, following their separation. In the episode, Dorit Kemsley confronted her former best friend about the fact that the two of them have been texting and got vulnerable about why that bothered her.
Dorit Kemsley confronted Kyle Richards about texting PK despite not talking to her
In the episode, Dorit Kemsley opened up about the fact that PK was "very unpredictable" and had left her "on high alert," she asked if her co-star and former friend Kyle Richards had spoken to Paul Kemsley since the two of them announced that they were separated in 2024.
In response, Kyle Richards confirmed that she has been talking to PK since he and Dorit Kemsley announced their separation, but said that their one-on-one friendship amounts to nothing more than texting each other memes and jokes.
In the episode, she said, "You know, he doesn't share anything about your relationship or anything that's going on. We don't talk like that. It's literally, like memes and jokes and things like that, and that's it."
She went on to say that she couldn't remember exactly when she and PK had last traded memes, but that it might have been within the past week from when they were having the conversation.
Dorit Kemsley was obviously shocked by this revelation and she went on to explain to the cameras that her problem wasn't simply that Kyle Richards was talking to her estranged husband, but that the two of them had fallen out while her friend was still talking to her ex instead.
She told the cameras during the episode, "The point is that you're texting my husband when you and I are not talking, when you and I are not good. It's just not okay."
Kyle Richards defended texting PK to Dorit Kemsley: "I am a girl's girl"
In response to Dorit Kemsley being hurt by Kyle Richards' revelation, she defended herself by saying that she's a "girl's girl" and that she wouldn't have been texting PK if she knew that it would bother Dorit. According to Kyle, the fact that she and PK would text each other jokes and memes had never been an issue in the past, so Kyle didn't realize it would be one now that the two of them were separated.
Kyle said that even if the two of them weren't on good terms as they're not during this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she would never purposely talk to PK while knowing that Dorit didn't want her to be.
"Obviously, I am a girl's girl. I would always side with you. There is no question about that," Kyle Richards said during the episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. According to Kyle, since Dorit had previously thought it was funny that the two of them shared jokes and memes and since PK wasn't telling Kyle anything about their separation, she saw no difference.
Would Kyle Richards be fine with Dorit Kemsley texting Mauricio Umansky?
The conversation lead Dorit Kemsley to turning the situation around on Kyle Richards and her own separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky.
Accoridng to Dorit, her RHOBH co-star wouldn't be fine with Dorit texting Mauricio now that the two of them were no longer on speaking terms.
Dorit brought this point up to show Kyle her hypocrisy and try to make her see why Dorit was hurt by the fact that she had seemingly chosen PK's side in their separation, but it didn't get through to Kyle, who accused Dorit of trying to undo the progress they've made in repairing their friendship.
In a confessional, Kyle Richards said that before this argument, she was starting to feel good about where her friendship with Dorit Kemsley was and now, Dorit had gone too far in bringing up Mauricio in order to try and get back at her. In a confessional during the episode, Kyle said, "Are you kidding me, Dorit? I'm going to be really honest, PK has been a better friend to me than she has lately."
Unfortunately for their friendship, the episode ended without them finding any common ground on this issue.
