Bravo may have announced that Vanderpump Rules is being rebooted with a whole new cast, but that doesn't mean that the original SURvers we knew and loved for the first 11 seasons of the show are leaving the spotlight.
On her social media accounts and her podcast, Scheananigans, former Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay announced that she wrote a memoir, scheduled to be released in summer 2025. On January 24, she shared the cover of her memoir as a way to announce the exciting news of its release and released a podcast episode the same day where she delved into the details of the memoir and its writing process.
In the announcement for her memoir, Scheana said that she's ready to move on to the next chapter of her life and that she's ready to show her fans and followers another side of herself. Scheana, who previously said she felt like Vanderpump Rules needed a 12th season for the OG cast to say goodbye, referred to the side of herself that her fans and followers have already seen as being filtered through social media and reality TV, but said that this book is a completely different look into her life.
In the Instagram announcement for her memoir, Scheana promised that the book will showcase every part of her life so far: "the good, the bad, the messy, along with the missteps and lessons learned along the way."
According to Scheana Shay, writing a book has been a lifelong dream of hers. On her podcast, she shared that she's always loved writing and she's been waiting for a chance to put her story in her own words, on her own terms and that this memoir is finally her chance to let Vanderpump Rules fans see the real her.
About the process of writing her memoir, Scheana Shay said, "The process of writing this book has been both cathartic and healing, and I surprised even myself with the stories that bled out onto these pages."
The former Vanderpump Rules star, podcast host, and now author said that her memoir features some stories she's never shared with anyone, but that it also features stories that appeared on Vanderpump Rules -- with all new details that didn't make the show and her own perspective on exactly what happened during filming.
"It's really just all sides of me. The good, the bad, things that you've seen on the show with more explanation. And it's not me trying to be like, 'I want everyone to love me after this book.' I would like to be more understood," she said on her podcast where she also said that she's excited for fans of the show to pick up a copy and get to know a side of herself she's never shared before.
My Good Side is set to be published July 22, 2025 and is available for preorder now.
