Scheana Shay thinks Vanderpump Rules needs 'at least one more' season
By Lacey Womack
Is Vanderpump Rules coming to an end? It depends on which cast member is talking, apparently.
On an episode of Jeff Lewis Live, Lala Kent said that she would "never" make amends with co-star Ariana Madix and that the two of them were going to continue to stay estranged. And to take things even further, she claimed that Vanderpump Rules has "no more story to tell."
According to Lala Kent, the show has come to an end because of Scandoval, the affair between Tom Sandoval and former Vanderpump Rules star Rachel (Raquel) Leviss. If the show ended, Lala said on the radio show, it would be because of that cheating scandal and not because of her refusal to mend her friendship with Ariana Madix.
Scheana Shay responds to Lala Kent's claims that Vanderpump Rules has "no more story to tell"
As of right now, Bravo hasn't confirmed whether or not Vanderpump Rules will be getting a 12th season. Season 11 of the reality TV series was heavily focused on the aftermath of Tom Sandoval's affair with Rachel Leviss, which is a far cry from where the show started back in the first season when it followed a group of employees at SUR.
"I don’t feel like our story ended in San Francisco. I feel like there’s always gonna be story left to tell because we’re gonna be living our lives."
- Scheana Shay on Lala Kent's claim
Speaking of her podcast, Scheananigans, Scheana Shay opened up about what her thoughts on a potential 12th season of Vanderpump Rules would be and said she doesn't agree with Lala Kent about the show being out of storylines.
Scheana Shay acknowledged the fact that the Vanderpump Rules cast has become fractured and said that a 12th season, if it were to be renewed, wouldn't be "a big group trip," but said that viewers and fans of the series deserve another season.
"I do think, though, we owe it to the audience who has followed us for the past 11 seasons to just continue sharing our story whether that is onto a new chapter or the final one," she said on her podcast and said that she thinks the show needs "at least one more" season, but that she doesn't know what Bravo's choice will be for the future of the series.
An insider claims Bravo is trying to negotiate salaries with the cast
An insider speaking to DailyMail.com recently alleged that the reason that Bravo hasn't made any announcements about the future of Vanderpump Rules is because of budget negotiations they're having behind the scenes with the cast.
The insider told the outlet that if Bravo decides to make a 12th season of the show, it'll likely be the last and it'll serve as a "farewell season" for the show. The insider cites the fact that the show has evolved so much from where it started and that the cast has so many issues with each other now that it's hard to make a cohesive show about them as a group.
"There's so many issues between various cast members and it's no longer an organic group of friends that want to hang out with each other," the anonymous source told the publication.
The major holdup for Bravo to announce the 12th and final season of Vanderpump Rules is on the way, according to the insider source speaking to Daily Mail, is the fact that some of the cast members are trying to get more money for returning for the last season than Bravo wants to give them.
"They're still negotiating with a few stars who are holding out for more money and are unwilling to compromise," the source claimed.
It's difficult, the insider says, since so much of the cast has moved on to other opportunties, like Lisa Vanderpump's new show Vanderpump Villa, Tom Sandoval trying to advance his acting career, Ariana Madix's stint on Broadway, and other side projects the cast has started focusing their efforts on more and more.
