Bravo has finally shared their plans for the future of Vanderpump Rules. Following rumors that Lisa Vanderpump was on her way out or that Rachel Leviss might be making her return, we finally know what Bravo has in store for season 12 of Vanderpump Rules: a full reboot.
It was unclear whether or not Bravo was going to renew the show, but the network announced on November 26 that the show would be back for a 12th season and will feature its namesake, Lisa Vanderpump, as well as a brand new cast of "close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors."
According to Bravo, the new season will begin filming in 2025, but no cast or premiere date have been announced yet.
The show was the first spin-off to come from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and has had a ton of changes over the years with cast members coming and going, most notably after the 10th season when Rachel (Raquel) Leviss exited the show following a massive cheating scandal, dubbed Scandoval.
While Scheana Shay said she felt like the show needed a final farewell season, Lala Kent openly disagreed and wasn't silent about feeling like the cast had no more stories to tell. With so much drama and so many of the cast members no longer speaking and not being tied to SUR anymore, it's obvious that the show is definitely not what it once was, so it makes sense that Bravo chose to reboot it.
The original Vanderpump Rules cast reacts to the reboot
"SUR was a place that became home," Lala Kent wrote in an Instagram caption looking back on her time on Vanderpump Rules.
The Give Them Lala podcast host went on to reminisce about the show and share that she has "mixed feelings" on the show being rebooted without the original cast. "This show changed my whole life. I'm unbelievably grateful for every moment. I'm unbelievably grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, the entire cast, and most importantly all of you. We rocked this b---h until the wheels fell off."
Ariana Madix, who started the show as a guest star in the first season but became a main cast member in the second onward shared a carousel of her own on Instagram with a heartfelt caption about the show she says will "forever be that girl."
In the caption, she thanked Bravo, Lisa Vanderpump, and the fans and wrote, "I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon."
Brittany Cartwright, who went on to star on the spin-off The Valley, commented on Lala's post and said, "Oh the memories we made! Love you Lala."
Meanwhile, Katie Maloney, who was on the show from its first season, took to her story to call her time on Vanderpump Rules a "mixed bag" but said that she wouldn't change anything that happened there. She wrote on her story, "Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years."
The first 11 seasons of Vanderpump Rules are streaming now on Peacock and we'll have all the updates on the new reboot as they're released.
