In a YouTube livestream sharing his thoughts on the first three episodes of The Traitors season 3, which aired on January 9 on Peacock, Bob the Drag Queen defended his decision to target two Real Housewives cast members that are in the castle with him.
In the stream, he told fans who are upset that The Real Housewives of New York City's Dorina Medley and The Real Housewives of Dubai's Chanel Ayan to "get over it" and explained why he sees nothing wrong with his choices.
"Get over it": Bob the Drag Queen defends his decision to take out two Housewives early on in The Traitors
Fans of The Traitors weren't exactly thrilled after the first three episodes aired on January 9 and showed the four selected Traitors immediately choose to target the Real Housewives cast members among the Faithfuls. In the second and third episode, RHONY's Dorinda Medley and RHODubai's Chanel Ayan were murdered because the Traitors felt that the Real Housewives stars in the castle are at higher risk of forming alliances together.
As any fan of the Real Housewives franchise knows, the stars of these shows are more than willing to sell each other out and get into petty drama over anything, so putting them on The Traitors where there's a prize at stake would just make that even more likely. Because of this, a lot of Bravo fans have said they think that the Traitors must not be familiar with the Real Housewives franchise.
Bob the Drag Queen, one of the four Traitors this season, confirmed that's exactly right in his livestream and said that not being familiar with Dorinda Medley, plus the fact that he felt like the Real Housewives stars would be more likely to work together inspired him to go after her as a murder target.
"The Survivor people and the Big Brother people have all backstabbed each other; they've hurt each other, so they are not buddy-buddy. The Housewives are buddy-buddy, and we do not think they will turn on themselves," Bob the Drag Queen said in his YouTube livestream, defending his choice to target Dorinda and Chanel instead of going after one of the other casts in the castle together.
He went on to say that his choice to go after Dorinda Medley upset fans, but that he didn't understand why as someone who isn't familiar with The Real Housewives of New York City. He said on his livestream, "I don't know this woman. I don't know that she's this icon on Real Housewives. I don't know she's causing a scene. I have no clue who Dorinda is, so I'm like, 'Girl, kill her.'"
But, it seems like Bob the Drag Queen isn't letting the Real Housewives fans' hate get to him. He closed the weekend off with a tweet about how Drag Race fans have been harder on him on social media and tossed a little shade at the end about how many Real Housewives fans remain anonymous on the social media app.
Chanel Ayan thinks she knows why the Housewives were targeted so early
Meanwhile, The Real Housewives of Dubai star Chanel Ayan spent the weekend after The Traitors season 3 premiered on Peacock replying to fans on X (formerly Twitter) about the fact that she thinks that screentime on the show actually contributed to the Traitors' decision to knock the Real Housewives stars out so early on in the season.
One fan wrote that they felt like Bob the Drag Queen saw Dorinda Medley and Chanel Ayan bringing entertainment to the episodes early on and decided to murder them during the first two Traitor meetings. In response, Chanel Ayan wrote, "It was all about this."
That wasn't the only post she replied to about the subject, either.
While another fan pointed out that the Real Housewives stars love to gossip and, despite what the other contestants on season 3 of The Traitors think, aren't particularly loyal to each other and came into the show without a game plan, Chanel Ayan spoke up again.
The user pointed out how much Phaedra Parks became a fan favorite on season 2 of The Traitors and speculated that Bob the Drag Queen did his research and knew that Dorinda and Chanel would be big hits on this season of the show and Chanel Ayan agreed.
To see who Bob and the other Traitors target next, tune in to The Traitors every Thursday at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, streaming exclusively on Peacock.
