The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp recently announced that she and her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, were getting a divorce. The star was relatively vague about the decision to split and said she was focused on her family and keeping speculation at bay, but it seems like that may not have worked out as she had hoped.

DailyMail.com broke the exclusive news on November 13 that allegedly, it was an affair with her horse trainer, who himself is married, that caused the divorce from her husband, Edwin Arroyave.

Who is Teddi Mellencamp's horse trainer, Simon Schroeder?

According to DailyMail.com, a source close to the couple revealed that their divorce was brought on by a "months long" affair between Teddi Mellencamp and her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder. But who is the mysterious man that Teddi Mellencamp had gone behind her husband's back to be with?

Simon Schroeder has been training Teddi Mellencamp's horses since 2023 and according to his website, he was born in Germany and the horse trainer's website says that he "specializes in jumpers from young horses to top-level Sporthorses."

Along with his horse training services, his website has a price list for a variety of services including spa treatments, grooming, and stabling with a full training and grooming package costing clients $1,650 per month.

Like Teddi Mellencamp was when the pair allegedly began their affair, Simon Schroeder is married and his wife, Karli Schroeder, runs the Moorpark, California horse training business with him. According to the website, the pair bonded over their passion for training horses, with the website stating, "When the couple began dating, their relationship strengthened around both their approach to horses and their vision for a family."

How did the allegations of their affair come to light?

According to the source speaking to DailyMail.com, Teddi Mellencamp and Simon Schroeder were together in Florida while Karli Schroeder was giving birth to their second child back home in California.

"Karli thought it was suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was giving birth," the source told the publication and alleged that after returning from that Florida trip, Karli Schroeder looked through her husband's phone and allegedly found proof that he was having an affair with the Real Housewives alum, who was the one that confessed to the affair after Karli confronted her about it. "When Simon returned, Karli found text messages on Simon’s phone that exposed the affair. She confronted Simon and Teddi about it and they confessed. Teddi promised it would not happen again."

The source went on to claim that Karli Schroeder knew that her husband had a history of infedelity, but she believed that Teddi Mellencamp had ended what was between them, so she didn't go to Edwin Arroyave with the infromation at first. The source went on to tell DailyMail.com that she only told Teddi's husband when it became obvious that the affair hadn't stopped and had instead gotten more serious.

"Simon had a history of cheating and Karli was tired of being connected to him. Edwin only learned of the affair late last month when Karli told him," the source claims.

The source also explained why it was Teddi that filed for divorce if things allegedly ended after Edwin found out that she had been having an affair with her horse trainer. The source said, "She filed for divorce from Edwin so that he did not have the chance to file and get her for adultery."

After the divorce filings were initially filed, Edwin Arroyave filed paperwork in return to request joint custody of their children and cited the prenup that had been signed when they got married in his request for the court to deny her request for spousal support.

Interestingly, DailyMail.com reports that Teddi Mellencamp's divorce filing alleges that the pair initally split on October 20, 2024 while Edwin Arroyave's filing claims that the split happened on November 1 of the same year.
