Andy Cohen recently shared that Bravo fans will be waiting until at least 2026 to hear anything about what The Real Housewives of New Jersey's future holds and that's something that even the stars of the show are disappointed to hear.
Dolores Catania, who has been a main cast member since season 7 after being a guest star in a few of the first seasons, says she's "a little mad" that her co-stars can't be civil enough to start filming again yet.
Dolores Catania says she's "a little mad" the RHONJ cast "made a mess" of the show
While the past few seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey have premiered in the spring, there won't be a new season coming in early 2025 and Dolores Catania says that there's no one to blame for the lack of new episodes except the rest of the cast.
Season 14 of RHONJ became so toxic that Bravo chose not to film a reunion special and since then, the future of the series has been up in the air with rumors of a cast shakeup or even a possible full reboot on the horizon, but Andy Cohen made it clear there won't be any news for at least a year.
"We didn't film last season, so we're not coming back… we're not going to be airing in January or February," Dolores Catania told PEOPLE. And Dolores isn't too happy about the fact that filming next season has been pushed back and that Bravo hasn't guaranteed a cast list yet.
She told the publication, "Of course, I'd look forward to seeing my cast come back on the screen or even come back to film, but they made a mess. I'm a little mad that everybody couldn't get it together. I really am."
Dolores Catania says she feels RHONJ "lost something along the way"
Dolores Catania told PEOPLE that she had a feeling Bravo wouldn't be bringing their cameras back to The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast for "a while" when it came time to film the finale.
She told the publication that she had prepared herself to speak face-to-face with the rest of the cast, but that her efforts were for nothing and the relationships on the show were too fractured to move forward.
She looked back on filming the finale and told PEOPLE, "On my way to that finale, I spoke to a therapist and asked her for some tips on going in and speaking to the women. I wrote it down in the car ride on the way there. And no matter what I did on and off camera, nothing helped. You could see I was defeated. I sat there and I knew you wouldn't be seeing us for a while, I saw it coming."
According to Dolores, The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast has "lost something along the way" and she says that the fact that the other Real Housewives franchises are still moving forward with new episodes is proof that the RHONJ cast is the real problem.
"I'm looking at Salt Lake City and I'm looking at Beverly Hills and they fight, but they don't go for the jugular. They're not hitting below the belt. They agree to disagree and move on," she told PEOPLE.
Even though the idea of a cast shakeup or possible reboot has been one of the rumors swirling around RHONJ's 15th season, Dolores Catania said she's completely against the idea of any casting changes that might add fresh faces to the lineup, telling PEOPLE, "I feel like we're an ensemble and I can't see anyone else but the people that I was with. It's like a family. Can you see yourself with other people in your family?"
Despite the problems in the 14th season of the show, Dolores thinks that the cast can set aside their differences to continue filming. She told the publication, "It's time to put egos aside. You don't throw something like this away. We had great ratings. We did well, we just have to learn how to act. This is what life is. It's about fighting and making up."
The first 14 seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey are now streaming on Peacock, but it's going to be a while before Bravo shares any news on what's in store for the next season.
