It looks like the "MomTok" drama is back on as Taylor Frankie Paul has posted some things that seem like she and Dakota Mortensen might have broken up. But, are the two of them really split or is Taylor Frankie Paul just trying to stir things up in between seasons of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?
The rumors that Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen broke up started in September 2024 when rumors that Dakota Mortensen had cheated on his "MomTok" leader girlfriend began swirling around social media. Though both of the reality TV stars denied the rumors, things changed when Taylor Frankie Paul posted a video of herself crying as she danced with a caption that said she was returning to her "2022 self."
This raised some eyebrows with her fans because 2022 was when the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star announced on TikTok that she and her ex-husband had chosen to get a divorce. Over the course of the next few months, she dropped the "soft swinging" scandal, announced that she had moved on to a new relationship, and shared that she and Dakota Mortensen had broken up for the first time.
Taylor Frankie Paul says she had to keep a gift meant for Dakota Mortensen
Taylor Frankie Paul saying that she was her "2022 self" again definitely had fans wondering if that meant that she was once again single since that was such a big part of her content in 2022 between her divorce and her first breakup with Dakota Mortensen.
Over the rest of 2024, she continued posting things that alluded to the two of them being broken up (or at least being in an on/off relationship), but things really came to a head when she posted about a t-shirt that she says was originall a gift for Dakota Mortensen that she was keeping for herself.
In the video, posted on her social media accounts on January 4, Taylor Frankie Paul is shown wearing a t-shirt with her own face printed on it several times with her name across the top of it. On the video, she wrote the text, "Awkward, I ended up having to keep this gift, but I gave him the gift of half of me forever so that should do."
The text seems to be referring to the fact that she's previously alluded to co-parenting with Dakota Mortensen, so things all seemed to add up for fans who believed that she was confirming that the two of them had broken up.
Dakota Mortensen responded to Taylor Frankie Paul's post about the t-shirt
In a video posted to his own TikTok account, Dakota Mortensen seemed to respond to Taylor Frankie Paul's post by dancing in a shirt that was identical to the one that she posted about having to keep with the test "IYKYK" across the video.
In the version posted to his Instagram account, Dakota Mortensen seemed to clear up some of the confusion about the fact that he had the shirt that was going to be gifted to him. In the caption, he wrote, "Still my baby momma. [Also] stole this shirt."
Considering the fact that Dakota Mortensen seemingly confirmed on his own accounts that he was not gifted the shirt and referred to Taylor Frankie Paul as "still" being his baby momma, it definitely appears to confirm that the two of them have gone their separate ways.
This, paired with the fact that Dakota Mortensen posted about moving into his own place in a TikTok video and Taylor Frankie Paul posted to her account calling 2024 the "worst year" of her life, things aren't looking good for the two of them. Still, some fans are holding out hope that the two of them are still together and just pretending to be split in order to stir up drama and build hype for season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
The first season of The Secret Wives of Mormon Lives is streaming on Hulu and the second season is slated to be released in the spring of 2025.
