Sister Wives has shown the progression of Kody Brown's plural marriage over the years, starting when he had three wives and was courting a fourth all the way to the present day with only wife remaining and one of his ex-wives re-married. The most recent episode of the TLC reality series featured Christine and her new husband, David, getting ready for their wedding and Kody Brown revealed the shocking way he found out his ex was getting married.
Kody Brown says he found out about Christine getting re-married through someone else's invitation to the big day
Kody Brown, who said during the latest episode of Sister Wives that he was "fine" with the fact that his ex-wife was getting re-married, shared that he found out about the wedding when he saw someone else's invitation to her wedding.
"I knew that David and Christine were going to get married because I saw a wedding announcement at my sister's house," he said during the episode and went on to share his thoughts on the fact that Christine was officially moving on with someone new, promising cameras that he actually doesn't care about the fact that she's getting married to someone new.
"This wedding happening is really none of my business at this point. Christine doesn't need my permission or anything like that. I'm happy for them and I wish for them all the happiness that life can give them," he said during the January 12 episode of Sister Wives.
Kody Brown and Christine Brown were spiritually married for 25 years before their breakup in 2021. Kody was legally married to Meri Brown before the two got legally divorced so that Kody could marry his last remaining wife, Robyn, in 2010 in order to adopt the children she was bringing into their marriage and Meri Brown left their relationship in 2023.
Christine Brown married her new husband, David Woolley, in October 2023. According to Kody Brown, Christine left their relationship in order to "find her soulmate," but he says that what she does with her life after their split is none of his business.
"It is weird because you know she's my ex-wife but it's like that's none of my business anymore and it's more like kudos," Kody Brown said on the episode.
Kody Brown admits that he thinks he needs "a lot of attention"
In the latest episode of Sister Wives, Kody reflected on the fact that now that he's left with only Robyn, he's officially a monogamist after being in a plural marriage for so many years.
According to Kody Brown, this new phase of his life as a monogamist with just one wife and some of his children not on speaking terms with him has been hard to adjust to, mostly for one big reason: the lack of attention.
"I got to admit this. I think I need a lot of attention. It's been different to be in a place where I don't get as much attention," Kody Brown admitted to the Sister Wives confessionals during the January 12 episode.
According to Kody Brown, even though he's lost his relationships with his three ex-wives, he's still open to having a relationship with the children that have cut him out of their lives in the future. He told the Sister Wives cameras, "But my children will always be my children and the door will always be open to them. They've got to come through that door. I'm going to be holding a hand out for that, but I'm going to be holding this hand that's next to me, and I won't let go of that hand."
But, he went on to say that there's one condition when it comes to him reconnecting with his children, should they choose to reach out to him in the future: "I will not cut off Robyn to have a relationship with my children."
Sister Wives airs every Sunday on TLC at 10 p.m. ET.
