Sister Wives: Christine Brown calls Kody's comments about past relationships 'hurtful'
By Lacey Womack
The drama surrounding TLC's Sister Wives continues to heat up, even a year after Christine Brown has moved on to a monogamous relationship with her new husband, David Woolley. According to Christine, moving on to a happier, healthier relationship doesn't mean that seeing Kody's comments about his past relationships hurts any less.
In a recent episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown referenced the fact that his previous relationships were "terrible relationships" that he didn't realize were so bad until he married Robyn and found what he calls a "normal relationship."
In an interview with Us Weekly, it still frustrates and upsets Christine Brown Woolley to see her ex-husband Kody talking about his past relationships being "terrible," but she's lucky enough to have moved on to a new relationship where she can talk through her feelings and not have to worry about ending up in that place again.
"I just talk to David about it because I would never do the things [Kody] accuses me of doing," she told Us Weekly about how she handles hearing Kody saying things about her on TV now, specifically the fact that Kody has accused trying to get their shared children on her side and make Kody look bad in front of them.
She said David has her back and reassures her, "David [says], 'No one’s going to believe that. Everyone knows you’re not going to pit your kids against Kody."
According to Christine, the idea of David Woolley meeting her ex-husband, Kody Brown, was something she she "dreaded" but luckily, the pair were "gentlemen" about meeting each other for the first time.
Since Christine and Kody share six children together, Christine said that she and David quickly realized that him meeting Kody was an inevitability -- no matter how much baggage might come with the meeting. She told Us Weekly, "We’re going to be in the same space for the rest of our lives. We just need to be adults about it. David and Kody handled it fine. They were gentlemen."
