Jonathon Johnson, a 27-year-old contestant from season 21 of The Bachelorette, made a memorable first impression. He arrived in a hospital gown, lying on a stretcher with his face wrapped in bandages, claiming to be suffering from “lovesickness.” This unique entrance immediately caught the eye of Bachelorette Jenn Tran.

Jonathon and Jenn’s connection has deepened over time, culminating in a romantic helicopter date in New Zealand during week five. During their dinner, Jonathon opened up about his past relationship with a toxic ex, which led to an emotional conversation.

Jenn shared, “We’ve been through very similar experiences, and now I feel that we can really build a great future together.”

Their date ended with a passionate kiss in the rain. Jonathon remarked, “Today felt like a romantic movie, and I couldn’t be happier that she is the one to do it with. The right person will make that rom-com love stay alive as long as you can.”

Everything we know about The Bachelorette’s Jonathon Johnson

Here’s a bit more about Jonathon: originally from Kansas City, he studied business administration and marketing at Chapman University and Grand Canyon University. Professionally, he’s a creative director and producer at TheLAB Creative Agency and a freelance creator on TikTok. Jonathon is also passionate about lacrosse and maintains an active lifestyle, which is evident in his shirtless gym selfies on Instagram and workout tips on TikTok.

Standing at 5 feet 10 inches, Jonathon playfully describes himself as a “medium king.” In an Instagram video, he shared, “We don’t have the personality of short kings. We also don’t have the sex appeal of tall kings; it’s not in our vocabulary. What we do have is very moderate personalities, very average height, and above-average potential.”

Despite having been heartbroken before, Jonathon is hopeful about his future with Jenn. He confessed, “It tore me down and took this kid who grew up as a hopeless romantic, wanting that rom-com love, and it absolutely destroyed me to my core.”

However, he’s determined to offer Jenn the “ferocious love” she’s seeking. According to his ABC bio, Jonathon believes chivalry isn’t dead: “I treat every girl the same way I would want to see my mother and sister treated.”

New episodes of The Bachelorette air Mondays on ABC and are available to stream the next day on Hulu.
