So confusing.

Throughout season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Mia Thornton seemed pretty serious about her relationship with Inc. He spent time with her kids, he came to events on the show, and then, they broke up, seemingly out of nowhere.

Considering the two of them had been talking about their future together and even shared that the two of them were talking about starting a family of their own, it was a major shock to RHOP fans that the two of them had decided to go their separate ways.

Now, Mia Thornton is opening up about what caused her breakup with Inc -- and she's claiming that being on The Real Housewives of Potomac is what put the tension on their relationship that caused them to end things. But, Mia said that she respects his boundaries and that the two of them ended things on good terms.

Mia Thornton says RHOP "doesn't align with his brand" about breakup with Inc

Andy Cohen was just as confused by what's going on with Mia Thornton and Inc as the rest of RHOP's fanbase and when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live, he asked Mia about what's going on with their breakup.

The pair went from fantasizing about a wedding and babies to being split so suddenly, so it's no surprise that even the Bravo host and producer was curious about what happened.

According to Mia Thornton, their separate careers can be blamed for the breakup. While Mia Thornton is an entrepreneur and reality TV star, Inc is a radio personality.

The two of them met before either of them were famous and it's no surprise that the spotlight can change a person and make relationships that may have worked once tough to navigate in the present.

On Watch What Happens Live, Mia Thornton explained why RHOP caused their split by saying, "Inc has worked really really hard for his reputation in his career. He’s 20 years in as a syndicated radio personality, and he feels as though this platform doesn’t align with his brand."

She went on to say that the two of them are still close and that she respects his decision to want to separate his own "brand" from The Real Housewives of Potomac. This question confused Andy Cohen as much as it likely confused RHOP fans watching at home, but it was the answer that Mia Thornton gave.

And on whether or not they might rekindle their relationship in the future? It doesn't sound like Mia is ruling it out entirely. She told Andy Cohen and her WHHL co-guest Quad Webb, "I need to get a divorce first, so we’re gonna work on that. We’re gonna focus on [Gordon], we’re gonna focus on the kids."

Only time will tell what happens with their relationship in the future, it seems. The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Bravo every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
