The Valley has returned to Bravo for season 2 and Jax Taylor doesn't like what he sees on the screen.
On his podcast, In the Mind of a Man, Jax Taylor talked about why he "cried" and felt "disgusted" by watching himself in the premiere for season 2 of The Valley. This season follows the breakdown of his marriage to Brittany Cartwright and seeking treatment for his mental health and addiction, so it's no surprise to fans that he said that he was reportedly nervous to watch the new episodes.

Jax Taylor says he "cried [his] eyes out" at The Valley season 2 premiere
"I sat in the corner and I cried my eyes out. I was so disgusted about what I saw, about that shell of a human being that I was looking at, about how I acted," Jax Taylor told his former Vanderpump Rules co-star Tom Schwartz on the April 17 episode of his podcast, In the Mind of a Man. "It was just utter disgust. And, you know, I looked at it like, 'Wow. I'm glad I watched this because I never wanna be that person again.'"
Despite the fact that he ultimately did end up watching the first episodes of The Valley season 2, the reality TV star said that he was initially hesitant to watch the show because he knew that it would be difficult for him to see himself in that situation.
According to the reality TV star and podcast host, the producers of The Valley encouraged him to watch the beginning of season 2 because of the fact that the filming took place last year and they believe that he had changed and improved his life in the time since production wrapped.
On his podcast, Jax Taylor revealed the conversation he had with the Bravo producers that convinced him to give the show a chance and said, "They're like, 'Jax, listen. It was a year ago. The show was shot a year ago. You are in a different place. If you weren't in a different place, I would say no. Don't watch it. But you know what? You've grown a lot from this first episode. I think you should watch it. I think you should watch it and see, okay, this is a place where you never wanna get back to again.'"
Similarly to how Jax Taylor said the producers felt about him, Tom Schwartz responded on the podcast episode by saying that he definitely felt like Jax Taylor had grown in the time since The Valley was filming its second season.
"And I will say, just for the audience, it's significant that Jax has watched an episode because I don't think he watched one episode of Vanderpump Rules in the history of the show," Tom Schwartz said on the podcast after Jax Taylor opened up about his decision to watch himself on The Valley.
Even though he ultimately decided to watch the show when it premiered, Jax Taylor said that it still wasn't easy for him to see himself in the state he was in. He said on his podcast, "I watched back the episode. I just look sweaty, and my eyes are bulging, and I'm out of shape... I just gave myself the ick, I looked disgusting."
Jax Taylor says he had a "sixth sense" for finding illicit substances amid the height of his addiction issues
As fans of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley already know, those physical issues that gave Jax Taylor "the ick" to see on himself were the physical toll of his addiction issues on his body. Jax Taylor previously opened up about the fact that he struggled with cocaine addiction and on his podcast, he went into detail about the "sixth sense" he had for finding the substance when he was still using it.
"It was a social drug for me. Like in the beginning days, in the early days, I did it of course because I like the rise, but towards the end I did it just to stay awake because I would crash around 9 or 10 o'clock," Jax Taylor, who says that he's now sober from all drugs and alcohol, said on his podcast about the fact that cocaine became something he "needed" in order to be social.
On the podcast episode, Tom Schwartz called out the fact that it didn't matter where Jax Taylor was and that he was always able to track down cocaine to purchase, which Jax Taylor agreed with.
"I had a sixth sense of finding it no matter where we were, what state or country we were in, I found it within minutes," Jax Taylor confessed on the podcast episode. Despite his previous "sixth sense," Jax Taylor said on the April 17 episode of his podcast that he's been clean and sober from drugs and alcohol for 139 days and that while watching The Valley wasn't easy for him, he's able to see that he's in a better place in his life now.
The Valley airs Tuesdays on Bravo at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes are streaming the following day on Peacock alongside the full first season of the show.
