The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is reprising her role on Broadway four years after her run in Chicago was cut short. PEOPLE broke the news that Erika Jayne was going to be returning to the same role for a three-week run beginning in January 2025.
Erika Jayne's first time playing Roxie Hart was cut short in 2020
Erika Jayne joined the cast of Chicago in the lead role of Roxie Hart in 2020 with a run that was supposed to go from January 6, 2020 through March 29, 2020 but unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic caused theater productions to shut down in early March and her last performance as Roxie Hart was on March 11, two weeks before she was supposed to say goodbye to the role.
On her Instagram account when the news broke, the "Pretty Mess" singer shared a photo of herself on stage with a caption sharing that she had "no choice" but to say goodbye to Roxie Hart and that although she felt like her time on Broadway was "incomplete," she was thankful for the opportunity.
It looks like Erika was right that her time on Broadway was incomplete because on December 18, it was announced that she was going to be reprising her role as Roxie Hart in Chicago for a three-week run in the musical.
This time, she'll be playing the same role again from January 20, 2025 through February 9, 2025 at the Ambassador Theater in New York City. While some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans have made jokes about another pandemic breaking out in 2025 to stop Erika Jayne's run on Broadway once again, hopefully her 2020 stint in the musical was a one-off and she'll get to finish her three week run this time.
Erika Jayne isn't the first Bravolebrity to be in Chicago
This may be Erika Jayne's second stint on Chicago, but she's far from the first Bravolebrity to make the jump from reality TV to broadway. A number of other stars from various Bravo shows, including another Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, have had roles in the show.
Earlier in 2024, Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules took on the role of Roxie Hart in the musical, which was also played in 2007 by RHOBH alum Lisa Rinna. Meanwhile, The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burrus and NeNe Leakes were both in Chicago as Matron Mama Morton.
