Brooke Candy's song "Drip" was recently featured in the Academy Award-winning film Anora and features Erika Jayne of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but this song has gotten the diamond holder into some hot water with the main artist of the track.
At the RHOBH season 14 reunion, the topic of "Drip" being in Anora came up and Erika Jayne mentioned being featured on the song, but didn't mention that the song was by Brooke Candy. Erika Jayne was one of several artists featured on different songs on the album, including Charli XCX, Bree Runway, and Rico Nasty.
Even though Erika Jayne did say that she was only featured on "Drip" and not the main artist that made the song, what she failed to say about the song has her in some hot water with Brooke Candy.
Brooke Candy is pushing back against Erika Jayne on her TikTok account and in an interview with Page Six about why she feels like she was snubbed by the RHOBH star because she didn't mention Brooke Candy's name when the song came up despite the fact that it was her song to begin with.
"Girl, why could you have not used that moment to give me my flowers?" Brooke Candy said in her TikTok video and went on to point out that she was the one who featured Erika Jayne on the song and talked about the other artists that were featured in songs on the same album.
In her Page Six interview, Brooke Candy elaborated on her TikTok videos and said that not mentioning her name during the RHOBH reunion was far from the only time that she's felt like the reality TV star has snubbed her. And, she said that she's not alone when it comes to smaller independent artists being treated unfairly by bigger stars.
"[Independent artists] are so often overlooked, we're so often stolen from, we're so often unable to make a living for ourselves. We have to take second, third jobs as artists to pay our bills. And it's really sad that we have to fight for what's ours and for things that we make when more often than not artists are beautiful compassionate people who just want the world to be more beautiful and inspiring," Brooke Candy said in her Page Six interview.
According to Brooke Candy, Erika Jayne is the on the opposite end of this spectrum of musical success, which is why being brushed off about the song she featured the RHOBH star on upset her. Brooke Candy alleges that Erika Jayne also previously promoted the song as "my song" before changing it to "the song" and tagged Brooke Candy only when asked about it.
"I feel that Erica Jayne is someone who is the antithesis of that. She is the antithesis of an empathetic compassionate artist just fighting to live and fighting to get by," the "Drip" artist told Page Six.
Meanwhile, some fans in her TikTok comments have pointed out that at the same RHOBH reunion, Erika Jayne "forgot" the name of the designer that made her dress, making many fans think that failing to give credit to the people who she's worked with is something of a pattern for her.
