The first self-elimination of The Bachelor season 29 happened only three weeks into the show. As fans may have noticed, Beverly was absent from the most recent episode of the series, having chosen to leave the show on her own accord.
Her departure was explained on the most recent episode of The Bachelor, but she also appeared on Bachelor Happy Hour to share why she left the show and whether or not this marked the end of her Bachelor Nation journey.
Beverly Ortega explains why she self-eliminated from The Bachelor
On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Beverly recalled the day that she made the decision to self-eliminate from Grant Ellis' season of The Bachelor.
She said, "I honestly was so excited, because I'm like, 'We're gonna have the whole day to ourselves. I'm gonna get to eat, sleep, just relax, no drama.' And I take a nap, and I wake up, and my stomach's hurting. I'm in excruciating pain, I'm continuing to throw up. It's a mess. This goes on for 12 hours."
Unfortunately for Beverly and the custom Mrs. Ellis sash she brought to make a first impression, she says she went to the emergency room after the pain seemed unceasing and found out that she had a serious issue. After being seen by doctors, she found out she had appendicitis and needed to be taken in for surgery.
During the episode, Parisa revealed that the other women competing for Grant Ellis' heart found out that Beverly was sick and wouldn't be coming back to the house and, according to Beverly, her departure was so sudden that she was concerned that Grant wouldn't known why she had to leave and wouldn't know there was a serious reason for her self-elimination.
"Physically, obviously I was okay, but emotionally I was not. I left with the what if. Obviously, we were building a connection. He saw and felt exactly what I was seeing and feeling. I know they didn't show a lot of our moments, but we did have a lot of cute little moments," Beverly shared about her feelings on having to leave The Bachelor mansion on the podcast.
Will Beverly be back for Bachelor in Paradise or The Bachelorette?
Even though Beverly isn't going to be coming back to The Bachelor mansion for season 29, that doesn't mean that her time in the franchise has to be over.
Since Bachelor fans already know that The Bachelorette won't be airing in 2025 and has been replaced by a season of Bachelor in Paradise this summer, the question of whether or not eliminated contestants from season 29 of The Bachelor might be headed to Paradise.
According to the podcast episode, Beverly would be interested in being cast on Bachelor in Paradise and she said that finding love was her ultimate goal in going on The Bachelor. She said on the podcast, "I do want to get married. I'm 30 years old. I'm ready for kids and family. I've always been a relationship type of girl, and so that was my intention going on the show."
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
