Bravo has certainly had a variety of reality TV villains across their different franchises, including Vanderpump Rules' Jax Taylor and Tom Sandoval, Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York, The Real Housewives of Orange County's Tamra Judge and Kelly Dodd, and now... Whitney Rose from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City?

Whitney doesn't think so, but she said that if wanting to "stand out" makes her a villain, then she'll accept that label. While speaking to PEOPLE, Whitney Rose opened up about her learning to advocate for herself and why the way people react to that might be the reason she's been labeled as the "villain" of season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

According to Whitney Rose, she's spent a long time having trouble standing up for herself and advocating for her own feelings, but she's grown to be able to do that now, but it can come at a cost. In the interview with PEOPLE, she said, "It's really hard for me to put myself first because I always hate confrontation. I hate making people upset. Despite however I'm viewed on the show, I do not like making people upset. I can hold my own. I can stand up for myself and I advocate for a lot of people a lot of the time, but I never advocate for myself."

Despite struggling to stand up for herself in the past, Whitney Rose says she's finally gained the confidence and ability to stand up for what she wants and stick up for her feelings. "I'm not backing down because for the first time in my life, I can say I love who I am and I'm not ever going to take that away from myself," she told the publication.

A lot of season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has been focused on a serious feud between Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose. The drama stems from Lisa allegedly spreading rumors about Whitney's jewelry line and claiming that Lisa Barlow had been leaking information about Whitney's jewelry line to gossip accounts -- something that Lisa Barlow denies having done.

Despite the fact that a lot of the drama this season has focused on Whitney Rose, she doesn't think that means she's the villain this season, but she'll accept the title.

She said that she doesn't think of herself as the villain of the season and that being seen as "the villain" usually comes from someone trying to stand out among the cast. "[I] don't want to be like everyone else. If that makes me a villain, then I guess I'm a villain," she told PEOPLE.

And as far as the drama this season goes, Whitney Rose says that she's tried multiple times to repair her relationship with Lisa Barlow, but says that the reason it never goes anywhere is because Lisa Barlow won't hear Whitney Rose's side of the problem.

"I even told her, I said, ‘I asked if you did it. I didn't accuse you. I asked.’ My experience with her is she's incapable of listening. I've never seen her take accountability for anything because she just has to be right," Whitney Rose said and went on to say that Lisa Barlow has a falling out with a friend every season and now that it was Whitney's turn, she started to question the foundation of their friendship.

"I'm just no longer willing to sacrifice myself for a relationship that is one-sided to begin with," Whitney said and went on to say that she hopes Lisa eventually looks at her friendship problems and realizes that she's "the problem" in all of them.
