Who hasn't dreamed of being in their own real-life Hallmark movie and moving from the bustling, big city to a small town to find true love?
Small Town Setup, hosted by How I Met Your Mother actress Ashley Williams, is here to make that dream come true for the contestants on the show.
What is Small Town Setup about?
Each episode of Small Town Setup will follow someone who has been majorly successful in all aspects of their life except in finding love, leading to their parents having them put on this show to try to get set up with the perfect person for them -- from their small hometown. Then, the people from their hometown gather together to find out whether or not one of their picks was a match for the successful single.
In the episode, the contestants are sent on three separate dates, each with a different prospective suitor that have been picked out by their parents and the people from their hometown, and at the end of the episode, they decide whether or not it's true love or back to the big city.
According to Ashley Williams, the show promises to have "heart, hope and a hefty dose of small town magic" and describes it as a "Hallmark movie but real."
When and how to watch Small Town Setup
The first season of Small Town Setup will be six episodes long and available on January 2, 2025 exclusively on Hallmark+.
Hallmark has been well-known for their original series and, in recent years, their Christmas movies featuring people finding love in small towns. But, despite being known for their heartwarming holiday romances, this isn't their first foray into the world of reality TV.
In 2024, they debuted Finding Mr. Christmas, in which Jonathan Bennett leads a group of aspiring actors as they compete to become Hallmark's next leading man, with the winner of the series being given the leading role in the Hallmark original Christmas movie Happy Howlidays.
This time, instead of being cast in a Hallmark movie to find love as a fictional character, the contestants on this series will be finding love for real -- or they'll be headed back to their busy life in the big city.
