Love Is Blind: Leo says he was 'delusional' to call breakup mutual
By Lacey Womack
The Love Is Blind reunion was full of so many bombshells and updates to the current status of people's relationships and in some cases, updates to their breakups. One major source of drama during season 7 of the Netflix dating show was the fact that Leo Braudy did not handle Hannah Jiles telling him that she planned to pursue a relationship with Nick Dorka instead of him very well.
At last night's reunion, Leo owned up to the fact that he had a "temper tantrum" and said that he was "delusional" to think that he and Hannah's explosive breakup was in any way mutual, finally admitting that he got dumped -- and apologizing for how he reacted.
Leo Braudy and Hannah Jiles spoke about their breakup before the reunion
Earlier in October, Leo spoke with People about their breakup and defended his behavior. While he said he wished that there was a better way that he could have handled their breakup, he also said, "I got really hurt [and] I acted in a way that wasn't my best self. So while I regret how fiery I might have gotten, I don't know if I could have done anything any different because I was just so open."
When asked by the outlet about the breakup, Hannah said she wasn't expecting it because in her mind, the two of them each had their own respective connections with other people in the pods anyway, so choosing to break things off shouldn't have been a big deal to Leo.
"So I went in there and I was like, 'Alright, I'm going to break up with him. If you say that you have this great connection with Brittany, it shouldn't be a problem.' So I think I was shocked. I was just like, whoa. I just wasn't expecting that," she told People.
At the reunion, Leo apologized for his "temper tantrum"
It seems like Leo had a change of heart between speaking to People and the reunion because at the reunion special, Leo acknowledged the "temper tantrum" he threw after Hannah ended things with him, apologized both to her and Brittany, and admitted that he was "delusional" to call their breakup mutual when he "got dumped."
Speaking directly to Hannah at the reunion, Leo owned up to his behavior and apologized to her by saying, "How I acted towards you... the amount of shame that I have, the temper tantrum that I threw... how delusional I was to call our breakup mutual, I got dumped."
He compared thinking back on the way he behaved when Hannah came into the pods to break up with him to being in hell and said, "I am so, so sorry, you do not deserve that."
Did Brittany and Leo stay together after Love Is Blind ended?
In a reveal that should be a surprise to no one who watched this season of Love Is Blind, Leo and Brittany were firmly in the "just friends" camp at the reunion, though they did say that they're close friends and talk on the phone every day.
After Brittany and Leo's awkward reveal and engagement, they stopped being featured on the show and according to Brittany, this wasn't a surprise. According to her, the pair were "the weakest link" and even the two of them weren't shocked that cameras didn't follow their relationship after they left for their vacation.
"Vacation truly is the make or break in a relationship and we did not pass that test. Traveling together, there's just some quirks that you realize you're not compatible with long-term or in a romantic way," Brittany said on the reunion when the two of them admitted that they realized they're better off friends.
