According to Married at First Sight UK star Georges Berthonneau, Love Is Blind's Ekin-Su Culculoglu wasn't exactly single when she appeared on Love Island: All Stars. He confirmed to Daily Mail that the two of them had been in a relationship together and had been planning for their future together when she left for the Love Island: All Stars villa.
"We were boyfriend and girlfriend from April last year. We were with each other. We spent Boxing Day together," the MAFS UK star told the publication of their relationship for the first time in his interview. He went on to say that the two of them had been in a serious, passionate relationship and that she had seemed dedicated to their relationship right up to her departure for Love Island: All Stars.
"We said we loved each other after six weeks of dating... I fell in love with the girl. She used to call me Bear and I called her Olive because of her olive skin and that's one of her last messages to me, 'I love you, my Bear,'" Georges Berthonneau continued in his interview with the publication.
According to the MAFS UK star, she had wanted to go on Love Island: All Stars despite the fact that they were in a committed relationship because she felt like it would help further her career.
Despite his hesitation, Georges Berthonneau stood by her side under the agreement that she would go no further with anyone in the villa than just kissing.
According to his interview with Daily Mail, watching Ekin-Su Culculoglu on Love Island: All Stars quickly became a nightmare when their deal went completely forgotten and Ekin-Su became the girlfriend of co-star Curtis Pritchard.
He went on to say that he chose to end their relationship after she returned from the Love Island: All Stars villa and cited her relationship with Curtis Pritchard as the final straw for their breakup, saying that he told her he couldn't date someone who had another boyfriend.
In his interview with Daily Mail, he said, "We had a lot of intimacy, we were very close, and physically and emotionally we showed each other such love, but she threw everything we had away for her TV romance with Curtis Pritchard."
The Married at First Sight UK star claims that Ekin-Su neglected to respond to his messages when she initially left the Love Island: All Stars villa and he feels like even after the two of them did speak and he ended their relationship, she still failed to take accountibility for her choices in the villa.
Georges told the publication, "She has not apologized to me. She has not taken accountability, and we are seven weeks post show."
Meanwhile, a source close to Ekin-Su Culculoglu claims that their relationship was never as close as Georges Berthonneau is trying to make it seem and that she had always been open about her intentions to date someone new on Love Island: All Stars.
"Ekin's relationship with Georges was always non-exclusive, which can be vouched for by multiple ITV producers, friends, and family. When Ekin entered the villa she was single and hopeful at finding a new relationship," the source told Daily Mail and continued on to say that both of them were actively dating around during the span of their time together. "Ekin was publicly active on the dating app Raya, which Georges knew about, and was seeing other people during this time."
