5 Reality dating shows for fans of Love Island

Love Island is an international dating reality TV series that originated in the UK, but has since expanded to be a worldwide phenomenon with over 20 international versions of the franchise airing at different points in time around the world. Most recently, singles from previous seasons of the franchise were brought back together for Love Island: All Stars and fans can't get enough of the dating drama in the villa.

Fans that can't get enough of Love Island and all its steamy dating drama don't have to search far for other dramatic dating shows to watch, they can check out one of these five unique shows.

1. Dating Around

Dating Around was the first original dating show created by Netflix and was released in 2019, before Netflix went on to expand their unscripted content catalog with other dating shows like Love Is Blind and The Later Daters. Each episode follows as one hopeful single goes on five blind dates with the goal of finding someone they want to see again.

2. Cosmic Love

Premiering on Amazon Prime in 2022, Cosmic Love gives the dating reality TV show genre a unique twist by tossing astrology into the mix. The show takes four singles, each of which has a zodiac sign that represents one of the elements, and follows as they try to find love based entirely on their astrological compatibility. 3. Fboy Island

With three seasons currently streaming on The CW's website, FBoy Island follows as three single women try to categorize 24 men as either "fboys" or "nice guys" after interacting with them throughout the course of the show. Before the show started, the men were divided in half and identified as either an "fboy" or a "nice guy" and the latter group are there to try to stay until the end of the season, find love with one of the women, and split the prize money with her.

4. Temptation Island

As far as reality TV dating shows go, Temptation Island is a classic. This show first premiered in 2001 and has moved networks a few times since it started airing, but it's now streaming on Netflix. This series brings all the drama of Love Island, but takes things up a notch by splitting up existing couples and putting them in beautiful villas full of attractive singles. The couples decide at the end of the season if they'll stay together, leave the villa with one of the singles they met during the season, or leave alone.

5. Are You the One?

Are You the One? is a dating show that first premiered on MTV in 2014 and has a total of nine seasons. The show follows as a group of hopeful singles are put in a house together and told that they've each been paired with one other person in the house who their algorithm has decided is their "perfect match." Each episode, they're tasked with pairing up together to see how many of them have found their match with the goal of the entire house correctly pairing off together.
