Wedding bells were ringing on the most recent episode of Bravo's Southern Hospitality, but did Maddi Reese and Joe Bradley really get married in a Las Vegas chapel?
No, Maddi Reese and Joe Bradley didn't legally tie the knot in Las Vegas
In season 3, episode 7 of Southern Hospitality, Maddi Reese had a gig in Las Vegas and the rest of the cast made a trip to Sin City to support her. While there, Joe Bradley took the time to surprise her with a trip to an iconic Las Vegas wedding chapel to have an Elvis impersonator marry the two of them, but the wedding they had was purely symbolic and the two of them didn't really get married during their trip.
"I really wanted to surprise Maddi with something truly romantic," Joe Bradley told Bravo's Daily Dish about his decision to surprise Maddi, who he has been dating since filming the second season wrapped, with the fake wedding. He went on to say that it was also a way to break the tension in the rest of the cast and keep things light and fun while they were on a trip to support Maddi Reese.
"At the end of the day, I wanted to remind everyone we should be having a blast on vacation, but more importantly let me Maddi know I am 100 percent committed to her. A real marriage isn’t only a dream for us, but a reality in the future," he told The Daily Dish about his plan to stage the pretend wedding to Maddi Reese in Las Vegas.
Do Maddi Reese and Joe Bradley want to get married in the future?
According to Joe Bradley, the fake wedding actually made himself and Maddi Reese talk seriously about what they want for their future. He says that this season of Southern Hospitality will follow as the two of them get serious about their relationship, but that despite the ups and downs that are featured in this season, the two of them are still happily together today.
"Believe it or not, watching everything back has actually helped us grow stronger. We are really working on not only being a power couple when we’re together, but when we are apart too," Joe Bradley told Bravo's Daily Dish.
During the episode, he said that having the fake wedding in Vegas was "manifesting" a future wedding for the two of them, but he told The Daily Dish that he doesn't think they'll be going back to Sin City for their real wedding.
Meanwhile, Maddi Reese said in an interview with Decider that when she eventually does get married, she wants to have a big wedding and a party that her friends and family can all attend, but that she's not entirely against something spontaneous like Joe Bradley's staged Las Vegas wedding.
Southern Hospitality airs every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
