Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia is a mom again.
The reality TV star announced on April 17th the birth of her fifth child. Monica made waves during her headline-making appearance during season 4 of the Bravo reality show when it was revealed she was the owner of the controversial Reality Von Tease Instagram account.
“Getting pregnant at 40 was never the plan, but just like the last couple years of my life, nothing has gone to plan,” Monica wrote in a video shared on Instagram, which showed footage of her new arrival. Although she does specify the gender, the song used in the video is called "To Our Daughter (Lullaby)."
“Dear God & body … thank you,” she added on her social media page. “Thank you for holding this baby safely through 9 months and a delivery. So very grateful. I will miss this so much. Every hiccup and every kick felt.”
It’s her first child with boyfriend Braxton Knight. Little is known about Monica’s romance with Braxton and for a good reason. "I've been dating him for a year, and no one even knows who he is... We actually met during filming. I met him filming," she explained.
The couple announced their pregnancy last month, a year after she suffered a miscarriage. "It was difficult coming off such a tumultuous whirlwind with RHOSLC and all the love and hate I received from all of that," she candidly admitted to PEOPLE.
"Old friends turned on me, I was iced out by the cast, I lost my job, my relationship with my mother has never recovered, my world was crumbling. Then I had an unexpected pregnancy and miscarriage at 40."
She explained that she relied on faith to get her through her fifth pregnancy. Monica is also mom to daughters Bri, 19, Jaidyn, 14, West, 8, and Kendall, 7, who she shares with ex-husband Mike Fowler.
The 41-year-old admitted to PEOPLE that she had mixed emotions about her pregnancy. Her experience on the reality show and with the social media response led to her staying private about her baby. "Being able to protect my peace was so important to me this pregnancy," she told the outlet on March 4, while confirming the news.
"I'm grateful for those who have stood beside me, to the amazing fans, and loved ones I do have in my life, but that pregnancy was my lowest point with being in the public eye, and I wasn't going to put myself through that again, for the sake of the pregnancy and the baby."
In November, Monica lost a court ruling against her former co-star Heather Gay's Beauty Lab. In the ongoing legal battle, a Utah judge ordered Monica to pay Heather $35,853.60 over a dispute regarding unpaid lip injections.
