Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie are reuniting for a 'Simple Life' special reunion
By Lacey Womack
21 years after the first episode of The Simple Life aired, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting for Paris & Nicole: The Encore on Peacock. An official teaser was just dropped online and fans cannot wait to see the pair reunited and bringing their sass and chaos back to TV screens once again.
In the teaser trailer for their show, Paris and Nicole, both now 43, are seen sitting together almost two decades after the end of The Simple Life in an opera theater where they're holding auditions for a performance based around the phrase they coined together on their first reality show: "sanasa."
An opera singer puts her all into performing in the theater for the pair, but she's cut off by Paris Hilton with a megaphone as the pair deliberates about what isn't right about the performer's audition. They convince her to sing only using the word "sanasa" and the three of them go back and forth saying it to each other a few times before the opera singer tries again with their new direction.
"That's hot," Paris Hilton drops her iconic catchphrase after the singer starts back up and Nicole Richie chimes in to agree by saying, "We're really good at this."
What is Paris & Nicole: The Encore about?
Although the teaser trailer released by Peacock is focused on the theater, previous updates on the series show that this new reunion will likely be a continuation of what the pair did on The Simple Life the first time around.
In August, the pair were spotted at a Sonic Drive-In where they were filming their new series. According to Nicole Richie who spoke to People about the new series, filming was "so much fun." She told the outlet, "We spend our days laughing and having fun, which is truly a dream."
Socialite turned reality TV star Paris Hilton shared a similar sentiment on Instagram where she gave a filming update and said they were planning something "very, very special" as she asked for fans to share what they loved about The Simple Life and use their catchphrase "sanasa" in the hashtags to potentially be chosen to be included in the project.
The series will be a three-part special that premieres on Peacock on December 12 with all three episodes going live on the streaming service that day.
