Kyle Richards announced that she and her longtime husband Mauricio Umansky had separated in 2023, but their marriage has been in limbo since then as they haven't made any moves toward making their divorce official.
Despite the fact that Mauricio Umansky has been seen out and about with other women and there have been rumors about Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade, the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills featured a confession from Kyle Richards about how she's been handling her separation and why she's dragging her feet on filing for divorce.
During a conversation with her therapist in the episode, Kyle Richards talked about the fact that she and her estranged husband have each been handling their separation in very different ways. She said, "He goes and lives his life and he's having fun and I've kind of been just working. And I know that's what being like separated is supposed to be, taking this time to figure out everything."
According to Kyle Richards, the reason she hasn't been out living her life the way her estranged husband has been is because she's concerned that he might someday change his mind about their split and want to get back together.
During the conversation with her therapist featured in the episode, Kyle Richards opened up about her concerns about moving on from Mauricio Umansky and said, "I guess it's just there's a little part of me that thinks -- okay, say I move on with somebody new, and then what if he's like, 'Okay, I went and sowed my wild oats and...'"
Kyle Richards went on to open up to the cameras about the fact that, since she grew up with divorced parents and her mother had trouble in her love life, she says that she had been proud of the fact that she and Mauricio Umansky had stayed together for so long and made their marriage work.
Now, she feels like her "biggest accomplishment" of not repeating her own mother's cycle with divorce is no more.
But, it seems like Kyle Richards may be coming to terms with the separation because she went on to share that she felt like she was beginning to realize it was time for her to move on. Her conversation with her therapist in the episode showed Kyle Richards coming to terms with the fact that while she had wanted to fight for their marriage instead of moving forward with separation, she felt like her husband hadn't put in the same effort.
"I don't know what's more sad, but if he didn't want to fight for me, or if he wanted to and didn't know how," she shared during the episode and continued on to say, "I'm starting to feel like I need to move on."
Hopefully, this means that if Kyle Richards chooses to return to RHOBH for season 15, it'll be focused on her moving forward with her divorce from Mauricio Umansky and finally getting out to live her life as her estranged husband has already been doing.
