It's no secret that ABC likes to pull Bachelor Nation alums for their upcoming series, so when Pascal Ibgui chose to eliminate himself from The Golden Bachelorette, questions began to swirl about whether or not he might be ready to take on the role of The Golden Bachelor for an upcoming season.

And according to this Chicago business owner, the answer is yes... With some specific conditions that he wants met.

Pascal Ibgui says he would be Golden Bachelor -- if the contestants were younger

Even though The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette are typically the more mature versions of the dating show and focus more on having older contestants, Pascal Ibgui says that would need to change for him to consider being an upcoming season's bachelor.

He told Us Weekly that they "have to lower the age." At a taping of the Men Tell All special episode, the 69-year-old told the publication, "The age [has] got to be lower. Yes, I'm old, but I don’t go out with a 72-year-old woman."

Previously, he had shared that another change that would need to be made to the show would be having contestants that are all from the same major metro area. According to Pascal, it's easier for the younger contestants to move across the country after finding love, but that he's not interested in relocating in order to be with his new partner.

"When you’re my age, I have my business, I have my home, I have my real estate, I have my friends, I have my kids, I have my connection to my health club, to my restaurant. I’m involved in a lot of charity." he told Glamour previously, sharing that it's easier for younger people who are less established to move but that he would prefer for ABC to cast contestants who live in the Chicago area to make a relationship more feasible.

What did Pascal Ibgui learn from The Golden Bachelorette experience?

While speaking to PEOPLE at the taping of the Guys Tell All special episode, Pascal Ibgui shared the things that he learned from being on -- and eliminating himself from -- his season of The Golden Bachelorette with Joan Vassos.

According to Pascal Ibgui, he's very picky when it comes to his romantic prospects and that isn't something that he plans to change about himself. He told the publication, "What I learned, it has to be the right person. You could give me 55 women, if they're not my type, they're not my type, no matter what they do, no matter what they say. If they're not my type, they're not my type. I need that spark. I need that sense. I need that smell. I need that touch. And that's the combination of everything."

But what he does wish he had changed about his time on the show is that he feels that he came across as "snobby" and wishes that he had shared more about himself and his life in Chicago beyond his interest in luxury goods.

"I'm a very generous person. I love to give. I love to take care of people. I'm a caregiver and I will give the shirt of my back for the people who need it. But I've built on myself to the quality lifestyle that I enjoy and I'm fortunate and where I'm at is better than where I was when I was a kid. And I enjoy my life. I spend money, but I don't flash it," he told PEOPLE after admitting that he is high maintenance, but says there's more to him than that.

But what he learned from the show has also given Pascal Ibgui a new lesson about his family life, he said. According to his interview with PEOPLE, he struggled to be vulnerable and emotionally open with his children, but seeing the other contestants show their feelings on the show has helped him to realize that he can do the same.

"You got to show them that you could cry and it's okay to cry. And I felt like that was a sign of weakness before the show. When I saw those guys crying, I said, ‘I guess it's okay. It's okay to open up. It's okay to have feelings.’ And it was interesting," he told the publication about his relationship with his children.
