Could we be seeing Bling Empire's Christine Chiu on our TV screens again sometime soon?
Although Netflix chose not to continue with Bling Empire or the spin-off, Bling Empire: New York, in 2023, main cast member Christine Chiu recently revealed she may not be done with reality TV just yet.
Bling Empire star Christine Chiu says there's been "poking" for her to come back to reality TV
While speaking to PEOPLE, Christine Chiu talked about the concept of her returning to the world of reality TV sometime soon and according to the reality TV star and wife of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, she might be appearing on another show soon, but it won't be the return of Bling Empire.
"The poking is there," Christine Chiu told the publication about the fact that there are people from a reality TV network reaching out to her in regards to talking about getting her to join the cast of a show. For fans of reality TV, this news might not be surprising because there have been rumors swirling for several years that Christine Chiu might be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
All the way back in 2014, Christine Chiu was spotted on an outing with then-RHOBH star Brandi Glanville and naturally, the cameras captured the whole thing as Brandi Glanville was in the middle of filming season five of RHOBH.
Christine Chiu previously revealed that she was offered a role on season four of the show, but she ultimately chose not to continue with filming due to a death in the family.
Along with hanging out with Brandi Glanville with the cameras on them, Christine Chiu is good friends with RHOBH's Kathy Hilton and her family, meaning that she has another, more current in with the RHOBH cast that might lead to her being given a diamond or brought into the cast as a friend of the housewives like her friend Kathy Hilton has.
Despite her experience in front of the Real Housewives cameras, Christine Chiu said that wouldn't necessarily be her first choice as far as Bravo shows go. She told PEOPLE, "I don't think I'll join [the] Housewives franchise per se, but I'm not opposed to Bravo as a whole or NBCUniversal."
Does this mean that Bravo could pick up Bling Empire or give Christine Chiu and her family a show of their own? Only time will tell.
Who is Bling Empire's Christine Chiu?
Christine Chiu is more than just a Netflix reality star. This Taiwanese-born heiress is the wife of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and owns Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery, Inc. with him.
She was one of the executive producers on Bling Empire and with her ultra-glamorous life, it's no surprise that she might be being looked at to join the cast of another reality TV series now that Bling Empire has been canceled by Netflix.
Prior to being cast on Bling Empire, she was considered for the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but Bravo ended up passing on her for the first season of the show due to her being significantly younger than the rest of the cast.
Although the casting for RHOBH never quite worked out for Christine Chiu, she once told Tattler Asia that she preferred the more low-stakes drama of Bling Empire to the Bravo series anyway, which might explain why she said she's not sold on joining the Housewives franchise.
She said, "With Bling Empire, the bling is the sidekick to real-life problems. The drama is catty, but entertainingly harmless and above-belt. The cinematography is the most beautiful form of aesthetic escapism ... Drama occurred sans table flipping, wig snatching and accusations against castmates’ family or children, which are all the traditional recipe for successful network TV docuseries."
