Summer House fans are divided by the return of the 'bed bugs'

The latest buzz around Summer House Season 9 comes with a mixed bag of fan reactions. Fans are particularly divided towards Ciara Miller, Paige DeSorbo, and Amanda Batula, collectively nicknamed the "bed bugs." 

This term resurfaced on social media after Queens of Bravo teased a clip of the trio on X, sparking a flurry of comments. 

One fan vividly described the group, referencing Ciara, Paige, and Amanda: “Bed bug who can’t keep a man, bed bug who doesn’t want her man and bed bug who can’t stand her man are back! Grab the Raid!!” This satirical take on their romantic entanglements sets the tone for other critical voices.

Criticism didn't stop at their relationship statuses. Another comment highlighted Ciara's choice of appearing in the clip, stating: “Ciara participating in this little clip is... not a win for her. I don't expect her to be blasting Kendrick (in fact, I'd bet West would before her), but this is... no.” 

Additionally, some viewers questioned Ciara's dating preferences with a sharp tone.

“Ciara thinks that if she dates a black man she will not fit in with her two besties. So she keeps going for those unavailable white men!” one person commented, accompanied by a Tyler Perry GIF captioned, “Damn Shame!” 

The sentiment of frustration continued with a comment about the group's persistence: “once you get them they are extremely difficult to get rid of…” 

Echoing this sentiment, another added, “The mean girls who aren’t girls girls and they’re male apologists!”

Summer House fans rally behind the 'bed bugs'

Despite the wave of criticism, not everyone shared a negative view. Some fans showed enthusiasm and affection for the trio's return to Summer House. 

“The big three of SH,” one fan praised, highlighting their prominence in the show. Another fan expressed admiration for Amanda: “Amanda is always so adorable.” 

The playful nickname also received some love: “What a brilliant name - The Bed Bugs. I love it and I love them!!” remarked another, appreciating the humor in the situation. 

Furthering this sentiment, one comment linked Paige's on-screen behavior with her partner's business: “It's perfect how Paige is always in bed and Craig sells pillows. Priceless!”

As the conversations swirl around their TV personas, Ciara's personal journey garners attention as well. Returning to Summer House places her under the same roof as her ex, West Wilson, yet she's tackling the challenge head-on. 

Speaking to People, Ciara shared her approach to navigating this complicated dynamic: “roll with the punches.” After her breakup, Ciara remains single and is tentative about dating, especially on television.

“I keep getting my feelings hurt, so I don't know. It does create this weird thing of wanting to be more of a recluse and kind of reel it back.” 

Despite the emotional rollercoaster, Ciara finds solace in the support from her female fans, emphasizing how their messages uplift her: “The girls honestly make it worth it through thick and thin and bad and good.”
