Season 18 of the Real Housewives of Orange County continues to deliver the drama that fans have come to expect from the series. Since joining the show in its 13th season in 2018, Gina Kirschenheiter has seen significant changes in her personal life. She notably found love with Travis Mullen after her divorce from Matt Kirschenheiter was finalized in 2019.

Gina revealed in an interview that their connection was sparked by a mutual friend, describing their relationship as immediately comfortable and easy.

"We just [liked each other], and it's really easy and comfortable," she shared.

However, Travis was entangled in a complex and bitter separation from his own ex-wife, Meghan Mullen, around the time their relationship began. The strife with his ex revolves primarily around the custody of their three children—Presley, Bennett, and Joseph.

The custody battle has been fraught with accusations and legal maneuvers that have prolonged the conflict well beyond their 2017 divorce filing.

The situation between Travis and his ex-wife escalated significantly when police involvement was necessary due to the intensifying custody disputes. Travis had initiated a lawsuit for custody, prompting Meghan to retaliate with serious allegations against him.

RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter’s boyfriend confronts escalating legal battles and allegations

The situation between Travis and his ex-wife escalated significantly when police involvement was necessary due to the intensifying custody disputes. Travis had initiated a lawsuit for custody, prompting Meghan to retaliate with serious allegations against him.

In 2022, Travis requested an emergency investigation into Meghan’s behavior, claiming she was violating their agreed-upon custody schedule by withholding their children. In response, Meghan accused Gina of physical abuse towards Travis, claiming one of their children witnessed an incident.

This accusation was particularly sensitive given the RHOC star’s history as a survivor of domestic abuse, adding a layer of complexity and public interest to the dispute.

The conflict reached new heights when Meghan used a past drug arrest against Travis in her counterclaims during their custody battle. Though the charge was for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and was eventually dropped, Meghan was incensed that it was used in his petition for full custody.

In October 2023, the situation took another turn when a judge granted Travis a restraining order against Meghan that extended protection to Gina as well. This legal measure was taken after Meghan began targeting the RHOC star on social media, further entangling the public and their personal disputes.

Throughout these ordeals, Meghan has maintained her innocence and denied all wrongdoing, asserting that her actions were motivated by concern for their children’s safety. This ongoing legal and personal drama continues to unfold, drawing attention not only from their immediate community but also from the broader public due to Gina's prominence on the Real Housewives of Orange County.
